SNMP Configuration for MiVoice 5000 Devices

You must enable SNMP support for the monitored MiVoice 5000 device with the same community string as that configured in Mitel Performance Analytics. You should also ensure that the MiVoice 5000 device is configured to:

Include the IP address of the Probe that is monitoring the MiVoice 5000.

Allow management traffic from the Probe for off-net monitoring or from the Internet for on-net monitoring.

Send SNMP traps to the Probe in order to receive alarms from MiVoice 5000 in Mitel Performance Analytics. This also displays the Event Stream panel on the device dashboard.

MiVoice 5000 devices support SNMP v1, SNMP v2, and SNMP v3.

If you are configuring SNMP v3 for MiVoice 5000, see "SNMP Configuration" for details on the additional options related to the SNMP v3 configuration.

To allow the receipt of traps from MiVoice 5000, ensure these options are configured as follows:

v3 Username: Set to the value entered in the 'Security name of the manager' field on the MiVoice 5000 device

SNMP v3 Trap User: Select this option to display the SNMP v3 Trap related options.

v3 Trap Username: Set to the value entered in the 'PBX security name' field on the MiVoice 5000 device

The remaining fields for the two SNMP v3 users can be identical. For example, V3 Auth Type and V3 Trap Auth Type can have the same value.
