Managing Email Templates
The Manage Email Templates page shows a list of all of the available templates. To view a preview of the template, click on it in the list and the details are displayed are below the list. You can also edit, duplicate and delete a template from the list by selecting it and clicking on the corresponding Duplicate, Edit, or Delete button.
To create a new custom email template, complete the following steps:
1. From the Alert Profiles page, click the Manage Email Templates button.
The Manage Email Templates window is displayed.
Note: You can also configure an email template directly from an Alert Profile. Click the Preview and Manage Templateslink from the Alert Profile configuration page.
2. Click the Add New button to display the template properties.
3. Specify the properties for the new template.
Template Name: Type a descriptive name for the template.
Container: Type the container name to which the template applies, including all child containers and devices.
Content Type: Select one of HTML or Plain Text as the message format.
Message Frequency: Select one of Digest or Individual Messages. Choose digest if the corresponding alert is also a digest. This option also affects the variables that are available for use in the template. See the table below.
Subject: Type the message subject. You can also include variables in the subject line. See below for variable details.
Body: Type the message body text and add any required variables. To add a variable, place the cursor in the Subject or Body field, select the variable category and property, then click the Insert Variable button. For additional assistance, click the Template Syntax Guide link.
Select the variable category from the first drop-down list. The categories are Global, Device, Container, Event and Methods.
Select the variable property to use from the second drop-down list. The available properties depend on the category selected and whether or not the template is a digest. Refer to the table below for the list of properties per category and container type:

4. To preview the template select an alarm type from the list and click the Preview button. If it is a digest template, you can preview it for each type of alarm.
5. Click the Create button. If you are creating the template from an Alert Profile, click Create and Select instead.
