Configuring Mitel Performance Analytics for MiVoice 5000 Base System
If you have a MiVoice 5000 deployed in a configuration that supports redundancy, you must include two MiVoice 5000 Base Systems in Mitel Performance Analytics: one to monitor the primary device, the other to monitor the secondary device.
Complete the following steps:
1. From the device dashboard, select System Administration >MiVoice 5000 Base System Settings.
2. Configure the following settings:
Setting |
Description |
---|---|
General Settings
|
Configure the following settings: Name—If necessary, change the name of the MiVoice 5000 Base System. Probe—Verify that the suggested Probe is correct. Mitel Performance Analytics preselects a Probe with the fewest container levels between it and the device. If needed, select a different Probe from the drop-down list. Container—If necessary, change the Container where the device is located. Description—Enter a description for the MiVoice 5000 Base System. |
IP Networking |
In the IP Address/FQDN field, enter the IP address or domain name of the primary or secondary MiVoice 5000. If no Probe is used, the IP address or domain name must be reachable from Mitel Performance Analytics. If a Probe is deployed, the IP address or domain name must be reachable from the Probe. NOTE: Redundancy is not currently supported for MiVoice 5000 Manager. |
Fault and Performance Monitoring |
Select the Enabled check box to enable fault and performance monitoring. |
Ping DSCP |
Configure the DSCP to use for ping packets. You can choose from Best Effort (0), High Priority (46), or a variety of Assured Forwarding (AF) or Class Selector (CS) settings. |
SNMP Configuration |
Configure the following settings: SNMP Version—SNMP v1, v2C or v3. SNMP Port Community String You must also configure SNMP on the MiVoice 5000 device. For more information, see "SNMP Configuration" and " SNMP Configuration for MiVoice 5000 Devices". |
Event Stream |
Select the Display Event Stream check box to have the Event Stream panel display on the device dashboard. See "Event Stream Panel" for details. |
Interface Filters |
To enable Interface Filtering, enter the following information: Names Types See "Interface Filter Configuration" for details. |
Maintenance Mode |
Select the Enabled check box to enable maintenance mode for the device. Enter a message to display when the device is in Maintenance Mode. |
Device Message |
Optionally specify the device message. |
3. Click Save to save your changes.
Clicking Save automatically runs a Probe connectivity check and verifies the new configuration.
Repeat these steps to configure the second MiVoice 5000 Base System.
To determine which Base System is currently active, view the Redundancy tab for the Device Information Panel of both the primary and secondary MiVoice 5000 Base Systems. When the MiVoice 5000 Software field indicates active, that is the device that is currently running. For example if the Base System for the primary device is active, everything is running normally. If the Base System for the primary device is inactive, but if the Base System for the secondary MiVoice 5000 is active, then the primary system has failed, and the secondary MiVoice 5000 has taken over.
