Connecting to an SMB Controller
The method you use to remotely access the SMB Controller (SMBC) depends on where the Probe is deployed in your network:
Access through Controller Manager—Remote access to the SMBC Controller Manager is supported in deployments where the Probe is installed on a separate server in the network. For example, the Probe can be installed on a different MSL device or on a standalone server. Remote access to the Controller Manager is not supported if the Probe is installed as an MSL blade on the same server as the SMBC.
Access through SSH—If the Probe is installed on the same server as the SMBC, you can connect to the device through SSH.
Before you Begin
If you are accessing the Controller Manager, ensure that you have entered the IP address of the web portal for the SMBC in the SMBC Controller Manager IP field on the device settings page. For information about device settings, see "Configuring Mitel Performance Analytics for Small Medium Business Controller".
Complete the following steps:
1. Navigate to the dashboard for the device you want to connect to.
2. From the Remote Access Port Forwards panel, choose one of the following options:
If the Probe is not co-located with the SMBC, select SMBC CM from the Port or Protocol dropdown list.
If the Probe is co-located with the SMBC, select SSH.
3. Click the Create button to create a port. The Remote Access Port Forwards panel updates.
4. Click the Open link to open a session to the SMB Controller.
