Configure the following settings:

Name—If necessary, change the name of the SMBC.

Probe—Verify that the suggested Probe is correct. Mitel Performance Analytics preselects a Probe with the fewest container levels between it and the device. If needed, select a different Probe from the drop-down list.

Container—If necessary, change the Container where the device is located.

Description—Enter a description for the SMBC.

In the IP Address/FQDN field, enter the IP address or FQDN of theSMBC. If no Probe is used, the IP address or domain name must be reachable from Mitel Performance Analytics. If a Probe is deployed, the IP address or domain name must be reachable from the Probe.

Select the Enabled check box to enable fault and performance monitoring.

Configure the DSCP to use for ping packets. You can choose from Best Effort (0), High Priority (46), or a variety of Assured Forwarding (AF) or Class Selector (CS) settings.

Configure the following settings:

SNMP Version—SNMP v1, v2C or v3. Mitel recommends SNMP v1 for MiVoice Business call servers.

You must also configure SNMP on the SMBC device. See "MiVoice Business SNMP Configuration For MiVB and MiVB EX Version 9.0 and Later"

Select the Display Event Stream check box to display the Event Stream panel on the device dashboard. See "Event Stream Panel" for details.

Enter the following MiXML credentials:

System password

Select the Enable SSO shared account check box to enable a shared account for ESM logon. Supply the credentials in the new fields that display. All users with Remote Access and Shared SSO Credentials permissions can use the shared account to log into the EMS.

In the Admin Password field, enter the MSL admin password.

Select the Enabled check box to enable MSL alarm status monitoring.

Configure the following options:

Collect Voice Quality—Select the check box to enable the collection of voice quality statistics.

Enable VQ Threshold—Select the check box to enable voice quality threshold alarms.

To collect Voice Quality statistics Voice Quality Monitoring must be enabled on the device. Refer to the VQ configuration topics for MiVoice Business and MiVoice Border Gateway.

Select Enable Device Upgrade to allow the device to be upgraded using the Device Upgrade feature. For more information see "Upgrading MSL Based Devices".

Enter a comma-separated list of IP addresses for the interfaces you want to receive SIP voice quality data for in the Additional SIP Registrars field.

Configuring this setting allows SIP voice quality data from phone sets, including soft phones, to be displayed in the Voice Quality dashboard panel for this device. This setting also allows you to view user agent, endpoint, and softphone VQ scores in the voice quality reports, queries and dashboard.

NOTE: If another device, such as a MiVoice Business, or MiVoice Border Gateway, is already monitoring SIP VQ stats on it’s own, DO NOT add its IP address to the “Additional SIP Registrars” field for the device you are currently configuring in Mitel Performance Analytics. Doing so can cause confusion as to which device the VQ data is reported through.

Select the Enable Softphone Voice Quality Monitoring checkbox to allow voice quality data to be collected from softphones.

NOTE: You must also provide the IP addresses in the Additional IP Registrars field to collect the softphone VQ data from the devices.

To use this setting, you must have a Mitel Premium Software Assurance Plus license.

Select the Traffic Monitoring check box to enable collection of digital trunk statistics for MiVoice Border Gateway.

Select the Traffic Monitoring check box to enable collection of digital trunk statistics for MiVoice Business.

To enable digital and SIP trunk utilization monitoring, MiVoice Business Traffic Data Collection must be enabled using the Traffic Report Options form. See "MiVoice Business Digital Trunk and SIP Trunk Utilization Monitoring Configuration"

Select the SIP Traffic Monitoring check box to enable the collection of SIP trunk statistics.

To enable digital and SIP trunk utilization monitoring, MiVoice Business Traffic Data Collection must be enabled using the Traffic Report Options form. See "MiVoice Business Digital Trunk and SIP Trunk Utilization Monitoring Configuration"

Select the Enabled check box to enable trunk capacity reporting.

Select the Enabled check box to enable SDS error rate monitoring.

Select the Alarm Severity level for the resiliency failover alarm. Your choices are Major or Minor.

To enable MiVoice Border Gateway IP set inventory, select the Inventory Monitoring check box. You must enable this setting before you can enable Disconnected Set alarms.

To enable the Alarm on Disconnected Set, select the check box.

To enable MiVoice Business IP set inventory, select the Inventory Monitoring check box. You must enable this setting before you can enable Disconnected Set alarms.

To enable the Alarm on Disconnected Set, select the check box.

To enable Interface Filtering, enter the following information:

Select the Enabled check box to enable maintenance mode for the device. Enter a message to display when the device is in Maintenance Mode.

When you set the Trap Community string value set to Public, the Trap forwarding configuration Automatically set option is enabled by default.

This ensures that the device has the Probe IP address and community string included in its SNMP Trap Forwarding Table. If the Trap forwarding option is deselected, Mitel Performance Analytics generates an alarm.

Optionally specify the device message.

Select the Enabled check box to enable ER alarms. SNMP and ER alarms must also be configured for the device.
