Managing Email Templates for Reports
The Manage Email Templates page shows a list of all of the available templates. To view a preview of the template, click on it in the list and the details are displayed are below the list. You can also edit, duplicate and delete a template from the list by selecting it and clicking on the corresponding Duplicate, Edit, or Delete button.
To create a new custom email template, complete the following steps:
1. From the Run and Schedule Reports page, click the Manage Email Templates button.
The Manage Email Templates window is displayed.
Note: You can also configure an email template when configuring a report schedule. Click the Preview and Manage Templateslink from the Report Schedule configuration page.
2. Click the Add New button to display the template properties.
3. Specify the properties for the new template.
Template Name: Type a descriptive name for the template.
Preferred: Select this check box to have this template appear at the top of the list when selecting custom templates on the Report Schedule page.
Container: Type the container name to which the template applies, including all child containers and devices.
HTML: Select this check box to preview the message in HTML format.
Subject: Type the message subject. You can also include variables in the subject line. See below for variable details.
Body: Type the message body text and add any required variables. To add a variable, place the cursor in the Subject or Body field, select the variable category and property, then click the Insert Variable button. For additional assistance, click the Template Syntax Guide link.
4. To preview the template click the Preview button.
5. Click the Create button. If you are creating the template from a report schedule, click Create and Select instead.
