Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) provides an extra layer of security for Mitel Performance Analytics systems beyond your user id and password, with a second factor, typically a passcode generated from another application to decrease the risk of hackers accessing your Mitel Performance Analytics account.

Two-factor authentication can be applied in two ways:

A System Administrator can enforce 2FA for all users in a specific container. See "Configuring Two Factor Authentication on Containers".

A user may choose to set up 2FA for their own account. See "Configuring Two-Factor Authentication For Your User Account".

With 2FA enabled, users must authenticate themselves using an application installed on a mobile device before being allowed to log in to Mitel Performance Analytics. See "Step 1 - Initial Log in".

If you do not have access to, or unable to generate a 2FA passcode, you can still log in using a recovery code. See "Logging in with a Recovery Code".

For API access to containers where 2FA is enforced, grant the API user account the Machine User permission. This permission bypasses 2FA and allows access to Mitel Performance Analytics via the API without a passcode. See "User Permissions".
